Children’s Mercy
The BR Foundation partnered with Children’s Mercy to create the Brandon Russell Memorial Foundation Endowed Fund, designated to heart research initiatives at Children’s Mercy Hospital. This fund will continue growing in perpetuity and will forever be named in Brandon’s honor.
Adopt-A-Family
Family and friends joined together to honor Brandon and ensure that his memory and legacy live on the at the Flashing Through the Snow Pub Crawl. All proceeds from the event benefited an Adopt-a-Family program through a local parish that helped provide Christmas food, toys, and clothes for families in our community who are in need.
Hurricane Harvey
Huricane Harvey was one of the costliest tropical storms on record to hit the United States. It inflicted at least $125 billion in damage, primarily from flooding in the Houston area. The foundation contributed to hurricane relief efforts.
Global Orphan Project
Our contribution to the Global Orphan Project will go towards a transition facility in Haiti where young adults will learn life and job skills that will provide an opportunity for a brighter future. Visit Global Orphan Project to learn more about their global community.
Cristo Rey Kansas City
The Foundation sponsored Taryn Klein in Dancing with the Kansas City Stars 2018. The sponsorship is directly contributed to Cristo Rey Kansas City. Cristo Rey provides a Catholic, college prep education enhanced by an innovative corporate work study program to culturally diverse students with economic need. St. Pius X Cross Country Trail
A donation to St. Pius X High School will be used to contruct a portion of their new cross country trail in Brandon's name. There will also be a memorial along the trial to commemorate Brandon's legacy.
Toys For Tots
The BR Foundation Ugly Sweater Toy Drive collected gifts to donate to Marine Toys for Tots. The main goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, “through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children.” To find out more about the program, visit them here.
